The housing of calves in individual cages, is considered as the best system because the calves are kept clean, their health is controlled relatively easily and also the quality of the beverage and the food consumption.
The cages do not allow the calves breastfeeding one another, therefore this avoids the contagious diseases being transmitted, eliminating the death rate. They are also protected from draftsand cold. In the individual cages the calf can remain up to three months.
